These include the Gulf of Mexico Security Act of 2006, Presidential Withdrawals under Sec. 12 of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, , 43 U.S.C. §1341, or the National Marine Sanctuaries Act, 16 U.S.C. §§ 1431-1434, 33 U.S.C. 1401 et seq. Additionally, some Marine National Monuments within the area under BOEM's leasing authority include language that restrict certain types of leases.
