snippet: The Infaunal Analysis table is a collection of datasets summarizing the occurrence of benthic infauna found in marine sediment samples or seen in sediment profile images gathered during various studies. The term infauna refers to aquatic organisms that live within the seafloor sediment. The infaunal data gathered into this MMIS table were acquired from multiple investigators and projects, whose research on or around the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) was funded fully or partially by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM). Attribution consists of number of taxa, number of individuals, density, diversity, evenness, and richness. The Infaunal Analysis table is linked to the Samples table, which is subsequently linked to both the Grab Samples feature class and the Core Samples feature class. This dataset will be updated regular as new and existing data are incorporated into the MMIS geodatabase.
